Open innovation in management and organizational innovation: A literature review and bibliometric analysis

Open innovation proposes to organizations improvements in their ability to innovate by collaborating with external agents. The objective was to analyze the impact of open innovation on organizational management and innovation and identify trends and challenges in scientific production on open innovation during the last twenty years, in the Scopus and WoS databases, through bibliometric review and analysis. of scientific production. 8,517 articles were published between 2003 and 2023, which were analyzed with VOSviewer. The results indicate a growth in scientific production during this period, led by the United States, China and the United Kingdom. It is concluded that open innovation is a consolidated, dynamic and diverse field of research with multiple opportunities, as it will have a key role in the world's economies, for which it will use the value creation forces of creative individuals belonging to a organization or outside it.
