Procedures for the viability of the circular economy in the coffee packaging industry: a systematic review

Abstract

The research aimed to systematize the existing knowledge on the procedures for the viability of the circular economy in the coffee packaging industry, through a systematic review. Key barriers and strategies for its adoption were identified, providing a framework on sustainable practices and productive efficiency. Through the analysis of various researches, different sustainable procedures and practices were evaluated, such as the reuse of by-products and the optimization of the value chain, highlighting the importance of material flows from coffee production to packaging and distribution; The standardization of the circular economy in the industry will generate economic, environmental and social benefits to contribute to a more sustainable future for the coffee industry.
