Effective management in education and its importance in educational management action of Colombia.

Abstract

This article explores ¿What characteristics of effective management identify the school in the contemporary world? ¿How
can these characteristics be applied in the reality of secondary basic education in Colombia? When making a documentary review it was found
that effective management comes from studies since 1966 since the dissemination of the Coleman report, several models have tried to expand,
diversify and oppose this contribution, finding examples of effective school and effective teaching. In the case of Colombia, reality led to the
recognition of the preponderance of technical-instrumental management with differences between the theory-practice relationship and the
appreciation of the product more than the process. That is why management and didactic options were proposed in favor of the integral
formation of the student, the assessment of the human component, its potential, skills and learning, relevance of the context, teamwork,
consensus and horizontal communication, training of the director in management
