Family management and the dissolution of SMEs in Los Olivos - Lima 2025

This study determines the relationship between family management and SME dissolution in Los Olivos, Lima – 2025. A quantitative, applied, non-experimental cross-sectional design was used. A structured five-point Likert questionnaire was administered to a sample of 80 family firms to assess decision-making, generational succession, organizational structure, financial sustainability, internal conflicts, and adaptation capacity regarding dissolution risk. Data analysis combined reliability, normality tests, Spearman correlations, and Chi-square tests, complemented with Cramér’s V. Results show negative correlations between dissolution and decision-making, succession, and structure, and positive, statistically significant (p < .001) relationships for financial sustainability, internal conflicts, and adaptation capacity. Strengthening family management emerges as a strategic factor for SME continuity by enhancing resilience and competitiveness.
