Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has NOT been previously published or submitted for consideration to any other journal.
- Full-text documents in Spanish, Portuguese or English in Microsoft Word, line spacing of 1.5 in letter-size, no extra spaces between paragraphs and titles. Font: Times New Roman 12 pt., 2.5 cm margins in all four sides. Maximum length 5,000 words for original articles and 3,000 words for review articles including references and excluding abstracts, tables and figures.
- Statement of Originality of the Manuscript signed by each author, specifying that it is an unpublished paper and will not be submitted to any other means before knowing the Journal’s decision. In addition, a signed declaration is attached in which copyrights and its reproduction are assigned to the Journal in case of accepting the article publication, for which the contribution of each author to the research and manuscript should be also indicated.

Metadata Identifiers
• Title: Must be short, maximum 12 words, use capital letters only at the beginning of the sentence and be in 3 languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English. It should not contain abbreviations, parentheses or formulas.
• Authors' names: full names and surnames, institutional affiliation, city, country, email, ORCID and Cvlac link (authors from Colombia). Specify author of correspondence.
• Declaration of conflicts of interest in the text.
• Funding in the text (in case of not having funding, mention it). -
Article Text
• Title in 3 languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English.
• Abstract: The paper should include a structured abstract (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusions) in 3 languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English, each of no more than 250 words.
• Keywords: Three to five keywords; in 3 languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English, listed in Bireme's Health Sciences Descriptors (Decs).
• Relevant sentences - Highlights - four sentences that represent aspects that the author considers to be outstanding of the publication (between 15 to 30 words per sentence).
• Text or body of the paper: The development and structure of the article depends on the type of article and section to which it will be submitted. Papers submitted for publication, especially Research and Innovation articles, should follow the IMRED format: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions.
• Tables and Figures. A maximum of six (6) tables and/or figures. They should be numbered, have a short, precise title on top and cite the source if not self-authored. Verify that they are cited in the text. In the footnotes of the table or figure all the necessary explanations (abbreviations, symbols, statistical test used for the calculation of the p-value). In the percentage data, for decimals (present two decimals and the "n" in parentheses) if the text is in Spanish, use the comma, e.g.: 23.27%(74) and if it is in English, use the period, e.g.: 23.27%(74). They should be as self-explanatory as possible.
• Figures should be presented in an original format that allows for later layout (not as an image),
• Impersonal wording throughout the text (third person).
• Similarity less than 20%.
• Abbreviations explained in the text the first time they are mentioned.
• Bibliographic references in Vancouver format and according to journal standards. They are cited with consecutive numbers in superscript according to the order of appearance in the text in blue color. All articles published in electronic format that have a DOI should be attached, if they do not have a DOI, the URL should be included. The name of the journal or publisher (books) in italics and preferably in its abbreviated form.
